The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity of the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) loyal to Chief Ralph Uwazuruikes’ Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB), Chris Mocha has dug his own grave at Okwe,Imo State.
Mocha who made this known to newsmen in a statement he released to newsmen in Owerri on Tuesday said the tomb is a beautiful place he wished to be buried in the course of Biafra struggle.
Mocha who decried the incessant arrests and secret killings of the members by the government said nobody can stop the actualization of Biafra.
According to him, ” Biafra is God’s will and God’s will must always triumph no matter how long it lasted”.
He said the repeated onslaughts by the FG security agencies had, on many occasions resulted to casualty figures on the members of his group not knowing who will be the next victim of death tomorrow.
Mocha said this has accounted for his action by digging his own grave in advance at the Biafran cemetery, Umunamu village, Okwe, in Onuimo council area of Imo state where he said he would like to be buried after his death.
He also added “It’s more honourable for the members of BIM-MASSOB who died while in active service to be buried at the Tomb in Okwe in Onuimo council area of Imo state in other to have their gentle souls rest permanently and receive eternal peace of mind.”
Mocha said the tomb is a large graveyard built of stone above the ground at Umunamu, Okwe, for the dead Veteran soldiers and members who sacrificed their lives for the sake of Biafra from 1967 to 1970 and 1999 till date.”
The BIM – MASSOB chieftain said he has served MASSOB and BIM in various disciplines and headed different standing committees including the new Biafra-currency-implementation- committee on June 10, 2010 which had since submitted its report to Chief Ralph Uwazuruike;
Among them he said is the “Independent investigation panel of enquiry on May 4, 2004, which investigated the circumstances that led to the gruesome murder of Asaba chief provincial administrator, late Chief Emma Edozieuno Elunor, at No 2, cable point road, Asaba, Delta State.
