*Captured terrorist, neutralizes over a dozen others

Troops of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have returned home about 3,000 civilians earlier displaced from their communities by terror group; Boko Haram and its affiliate, Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), around the Lake Chad.
..MNJTF spokesman, Lt Col Kamarudeen Adegoke disclosed yesterday in a statement from the force headquarters, N’Djamena, Chad’s capital.
Adegoke said a week of sustained clearance operations on terrorists’ camps and ambushes since January 18 led to rescue of about 3,000 people and return to their homes in Chad the Nigerian borders.
‘Further stabilization operations by Sector 2 have led to the return of about 3,000 civilians in the general area of Bakatorolorom,” he disclosed
He explained the Sector 2 of the MNJTF troops in Chad, has continued to dominate the Maritime domain from the community Bagalam – Kongalam to Koulfoua for the sole purpose of denying the terrorists freedom of operations.
He also said troops of Sector 3 in Nigeria) intercepted a Boko Haram logistics supplier around Baga, northern Borno on the 18th January while on operation.
He said the suspect was in possession of motorcycle spare parts despite the fact that motorcycles usage remains banned in Borno since 2014.
Over a dozen of Boko Haram and ISWAP were also neutralized in another offensive against the terrorists camps on January 21 along Nigeria-Niger border, the spokesman added.
“The well conducted special forces operation, led to the destruction of the enemy camp, neutralization of over a dozen terrorists, destruction of their equipment and capture of 2 high value target criminals,” he disclosed. He said there was no casualty from the regional forces.
Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon contribute troops to the MNJTF as members state of the Lake Chad Commission.
