Members of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards, (BSCVG) have arrested three suspects for armed robbery in Benue state.
Our correspondent gathered that members of the volunteer guards “on the 29/11/2023 at about 08:45 hour were on patrol along Odoba hill and got information that armed robbers were operating along the boundary between Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Local Government Area (LGA), of the state.
It was gathered that the robbers had concluded operation but the team went after them and were able to bring one down and apprehended others who were handed over to the Police.
Speaking on the incident, Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Odoh Ugwu, commended the BSCVG for their bravery in tackling the robbers and insecurity in the state.
Odo said “the role of the members of the BSCVG under the present leadership of Austine Enejor has made tremendous successes and need to be commended”.
Confirming the incident, the Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia, on Security and Internal Affairs, Chief Joseph Har, PSP, commended the guards for their gallantry.
Har said, “I can confirm the good work that members of the BCVG are doing since the transfer and replacement of the former Zonal Commander.
“God will always expose them. I encourage them to keep up the momentum especially during the yuletide.”
