Security operatives of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards (BSCVG) have arrested three suspected kidnappers in Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, the State Police Command has confirmed.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the arrest to journalists in Makurdi on Tuesday, said the suspects were apprehended this morning after collecting ransom and were about to leave for Makurdi, the state capital.
Our correspondent gathered that “The information got to the community volunteer guard from the motor park where they were trying to board a vehicle to Makurdi.

“They were caught with some money supposed to be ransom received after which they were being handed over to the Police in Otukpo for further investigations.”
Anene recalled that a Benue Links bus was attacked along Otukpo-Otukpa road last Thursday, 13 June 2024, and the driver was reportedly shot dead, saying the suspects were linked to the robbery.
