Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has taken its campaign against the rising number of out-of-school children to the national stage, presenting its Project BRACE-UP strategy as part of a broader North Central push to improve basic education delivery.
Executive Chairman of Benue SUBEB, Grace Adagba, who led the North Central delegation to the 30th Quarterly Meeting of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) management with SUBEB chairmen in Asaba, Delta State, said the region’s education agenda was increasingly focused on innovative measures to drive enrolment, community mobilisation and improved learning outcomes.
Adagba, dean of the North Central SUBEBs, presented the zone’s scorecard on the achievements, challenges and emerging priorities in basic education, while highlighting Benue’s Project BRACE-UP as an intervention designed to tackle out-of-school children through mass enrolment and community mobilisation.

She also joined other education stakeholders as a panelist on innovative strategies for improving basic education delivery across the states, where she shared Benue’s experience in deploying community-based approaches to bring children back into school.
The meeting, which began in Asaba on Monday, is also examining a new digital Basic Education Action Plan Management System (BEAP-MS) for the preparation and submission of state action plans, alongside the review of the UBE 10-Year Roadmap for 2026–2035 and updates on HOPE-EDU and the UBEC-Islamic Development Bank bilingual education project.
