The Benue State Police Command has intercepted a snatched vehicle in the Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State and arrested four suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ifeanyi Emenari, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
The Commissioner stated that his men have once again demonstrated their commitment to combating crime through effective intelligence sharing and prompt response.
According to the statement, “On Thursday, October 24, 2025, operatives of the Command in Otukpo, acting on credible intelligence from Imo State Police Command, intercepted a black Mercedes-Benz Formatic ML350 SUV while in transit to Otukpo that had earlier been reported snatched at gunpoint in Owerri, Imo State.

“Four male suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, and preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was being conveyed to another destination when it was intercepted.
“Items reasonably suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime were recovered, which include two Android phones, three button phones, one power bank, a criminal charm, and documents of another vehicle.”
The Commissioner said the case is currently under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Makurdi, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
Emenari commended the officers involved for their vigilance and urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with credible information that will aid in the fight against crime.
