The All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Benue state said they are trying to reach out the national Secretariat of the party to wade in and address the use of military to disrupt activities at the Secretariat recently.

Director of Media and ICT, APC Benue, Martinez Tyotsume, disclosed this to newsmen in Makurdi the state capital on Sunday.

He recalled that on the first of February, 2024, the party was playing host to executives of the Ehaje1 Ogbadibo local government Area who came on a solidarity visit to the APC state Secretariat.

The executives led by Peter Onoja, he said, took time to disclaim the news of the suspension of the state chairman of the party, Comrade Austin Agada.

According to him, while the process was going on, some security operatives forcefully broke into the Secretariat at about 2-3pm, disrupted the event.

He said that at an hour later, the security operatives came again, broke into the Secretariat, vandalized and made away with some properties.

“Shockingly, this came shortly after the emissaries of the national Secretariat came for reconciliation and to mediated peace between the governor and the party. They came here and say that the party and the governor should work together in peace.

“We are trying to reach out the national Secretariat of our party to see how to handle the use of military to disrupt activities at the Secretariat.

“We are not rushing because we are just but a state chapter of the party so we must inform them of everything.
