Benue APC chairman Omale backs Alia’s second term, says state needs continuity

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Mr Benjamin Omale, has expressed confidence that the state will witness greater socio-economic and infrastructural development if Governor Hyacinth Alia is given the opportunity to continue his leadership beyond 2027.

Omale, who spoke with newsmen in Makurdi on Tuesday, said the people of Benue had experienced the positive impact of both President Bola Tinubu’s administration and Governor Alia’s policies, adding that the achievements recorded so far had strengthened public support for the APC.

According to him, the implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, alongside Governor Alia’s development initiatives, has endeared both leaders to the people of the state. He noted that Benue residents are prepared to support their re-election bids in the 2027 general elections.

The APC chairman highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects across urban and rural communities, reforms in the education and healthcare sectors, and investments in agriculture and agro-allied industries as key achievements of the Alia administration. He said the revitalisation of moribund factories and the establishment of new processing facilities are creating jobs and stimulating economic growth across the state.

Omale stated that Governor Alia’s administration has brought visible development to Benue, citing the construction of roads, modern school buildings, improved primary healthcare services and increased investment in agriculture.

According to him, these interventions have improved service delivery and enhanced the quality of life for residents.

He urged Benue people to remain committed to the APC administration and support the re-election of both Governor Alia and President Tinubu in 2027, arguing that continuity would enable the government to consolidate its achievements and complete ongoing projects.

Omale said: “The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu has endeared him to the people of Benue State who are ready to give him massive votes during next year’s general elections, working with Hyacinth Alia who is transforming the state to match federal presence across the state.

“President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia have performed creditably in their respective offices. The visible projects and programmes across the state have convinced many residents that both leaders deserve another term to deepen development and progress.”

The APC chairman also described Governor Alia’s administration as inclusive and people-oriented, noting that the governor has carried people along irrespective of political affiliation.

He further noted that: “Governor Alia has demonstrated leadership with a human face. His administration has remained open to all, regardless of party differences, and this has further strengthened public confidence in his government.”

He acknowledged the massive ongoing projects on urban and rural roads, reforms in the basic education sector, healthcare service delivery, as well as agriculture and agro-allied processing industries through the revitalisation of three factories and the establishment of new ones to address key service and commodity gaps while creating jobs, as part of the governor’s performance record.

“For a long time, Benue State was in the dark regarding development but with the coming of Governor Hyacinth Alia, people can now see how their money is being utilized for the construction of rural and urban roads, they now see storey buildings for the first time across public primary schools our primary Healthcare centres and the health sector is now doing better, attracting medical tourists from other states into Benue while jobs are now being created through investment in agriculture and agro-allied processing factories.”

Omale further maintained that the APC in Benue has become stronger, more united and more attractive to members under Governor Alia’s leadership, attributing the development to the governor’s respect for the rule of law and commitment to good governance.

He assured party members and supporters that the APC in Benue State remains fully committed to supporting President Tinubu and Governor Alia as they seek second terms in office, expressing optimism that their continued leadership would guarantee sustainable development and prosperity for the state and the nation.
