- Gives 20 scholarships to Nigerians students via RHI

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko has expressed his country’s strong interest in developing cooperation with Nigeria across various sectors, including agriculture, food processing, industry and education.
According to a statement issued by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, President Lukashenko, stated this during a meeting with Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, in Minsk.
He highlighted the potential for collaboration between the two nations, noting that Belarus can provide significant assistance to Nigeria and vice versa.
He invited Nigeria’s Foreign Minister to visit Belarus to further discuss areas of partnership.

Mrs Tinubu thanked President Lukashenko for providing 20 Nigerian students with full scholarships through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
She explained that RHI is currently focused on empowering women in agriculture to improve food security and production in Nigeria.
The Belarusian Minister of Education, Andrey Ivanets, stated that there are currently around 600 Nigerian students studying in Belarus, performing well academically.
He expressed hope to formalize a bilateral agreement with Nigeria and establish specialist training centers in the country.
Mrs Tinubu also met with the Speaker of the Belarus parliament, Natalya Kochanova, and members of the Women’s Union of Belarus during her visit.
