A three-day series of Christmas light-up events will take place across Enugu, Port Harcourt, and Aba from December 2-4 as part of Nigerian Breweries’ ‘Legendary Christmas’ programme, with Amstel Malta supporting the initiative. This will also be in partnership with state governments in the South-East and South-South.

The programme which will include large-scale city lightings, public displays and seasonal activities aimed at marking the annual homecoming period when many Nigerians return to their hometowns. Officials say the events are intended to strengthen community ties and encourage festive celebrations.

Elohor Olumide-Awe, portfolio manager for non-alcoholic drinks at Nigerian Breweries, noted that the end-of-year season continues to hold strong cultural significance. “It is a time when families reunite and communities come alive,” she said, adding that the lighting activities are expected to add to the communal atmosphere.

Cultural figures, Natacha Akide and Stan Nze, are scheduled to make appearances during the lighting ceremonies, which will hold in Enugu on December 2, Port Harcourt on December 3 and Aba on December 4.

Beyond the light-up events, the company has also announced plans for a month-long Christmas village in Aba, tagged Amstel Malta Festiville. The venue will feature music, art exhibitions, a carol night and performances by invited artists. Organisers say the space is designed to serve as a family-friendly destination, with a playground and activity areas for children.

Amstel Malta is also expected to participate in the Lagos Food Fest on December 14 at Muri Okunola Park, one of the city’s major year-end culinary events. The festive activities will be released via the organisation’s social media platforms.
