The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He made this appeal when the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, visited him at his Iga Idugaran palace in Lagos.

According to a statement issued by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the Oba noted that President Tinubu means well for the nation and is a grassroots-focused leader.

He urged Nigerians to pray for the country and the President, stating that “everything good needs prayers”.

The Oba also admonished Nigerian youth to be closer to God, noting that while many are good and hardworking, some are “incurably lazy” and always waiting to be spoon-fed. He advised them to learn how to “fish themselves” instead of always waiting for handouts.

During the visit, the Oba reiterated his appeal for a special status for Lagos State, given its former status as the federal capital.

The First Lady, who was accompanied by the wives of some South-West governors, National Assembly members, and ministers, assured the Oba that President Tinubu loves Nigeria and Nigerians and will do his best for the country.
