Baze University has announced the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar following what the institution described as a rigorous and competitive selection process.
The appointments were approved by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Founder of the university, Datti Baba-Ahmed, on behalf of the Board.
According to a statement issued by the university management, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution with effect from May 6, 2026. Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi was also appointed Registrar with effect from the same date.
Professor Adeniyi, a scholar in Communication and Media Epistemology, previously served as Registrar of the university before his elevation to the position of Vice-Chancellor. He is being succeeded by Lawi, who formerly held the position of Director of Human Resources.

The university noted that both officials have spent more than a decade serving the institution and have demonstrated commitment, professionalism and loyalty in their various capacities.
The Board of Trustees expressed confidence in the ability of the new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar to provide effective leadership and further advance the university’s academic and administrative goals.
“The appointments underscore the University’s commitment to continuity, merit-based leadership, and sustained institutional growth,” the statement said.
Management of the university also congratulated the newly appointed officials and urged staff and stakeholders to support them as they assume their new responsibilities.
