The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, High Chief Collins Cocodia, has congratulated the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, his Deputy, Pastor Peter Akpe, and Bayelsans at large, on the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.
In a goodwill message to mark the historic milestone signed by his Media Aide Mr. Patrick Ndubuisi, the political adviser described the 30th anniversary as a significant moment to celebrate Bayelsa’s journey, achievements, resilience and the collective aspirations of its people.
He said Bayelsa’s emergence three decades ago marked the beginning of a new chapter in the political and socio-economic history of the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta, adding that the state has continued to evolve despite the numerous challenges encountered along the way.
The Governor’s Special Adviser commended Senator Douye Diri for what he described as his administration’s commitment to sustainable development and the implementation of programmes and policies aimed at improving the lives of Bayelsans.
According to High Chief Cocodia, the progress being recorded across various sectors under the Assured Prosperity Administration is a testament to the Governor’s vision and commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous Bayelsa.
High Chief Cocodia noted that investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, human capital development, sports and other critical sectors are creating a foundation for sustainable growth and development in the state.
He declared that “Bayelsa is rising,” stressing that the state’s future remains bright and full of opportunities.
“Bayelsa at 30 is a celebration of our journey, our resilience, our achievements and our collective aspirations. We have come a long way, and there is still so much more to accomplish.”

The Special Adviser urged Bayelsans to continue to support the administration and remain united in the collective effort to move the state forward.
He also called on political leaders, traditional rulers, youths, women, professionals and other stakeholders to place the interest of Bayelsa above personal considerations, noting that the development of the state requires the collective contributions of all.
High Chief Cocodia expressed optimism that the years ahead would bring greater development, prosperity and opportunities to Bayelsa State.
He wished Governor Diri, his administration and the entire people of Bayelsa State continued peace, unity and prosperity.
