Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has declared that the success of the Bayelsa West senatorial district election had validated the electoral capacity of the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Lokpobiri, who expressed happiness over the outcome, also commended the APC members in Ekeremor for the peaceful and orderly conduct during the party’s senatorial primary election for the Bayelsa West, held through the direct primary election process.
Senator Lokpobiri, while describing the process as transparent, credible and reflective of the unity and internal strength of the APC, noted that the impressive turnout of party faithful and electorates highlighted the growing confidence of the people in the progressive ideals of the party.

“The peaceful conduct of this primary election clearly demonstrates the maturity, discipline and cohesion that exist within our great party,” the Minister stated.
Lokpobiri applauded all aspirants for their commitment and sense of responsibility in seeking to serve the people under the APC platform.
“As we await the official announcement of results by the national leadership of our party, I urge all members to remain united and focused on the collective interest of our people,” he added.
The minister reaffirmed his confidence in the APC’s continued capacity to provide purposeful leadership and deepen democratic governance across the country.
