Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, yesterday continued his campaign for a second term in office in Yenagoa Local Government Area with promises of more projects if re-elected on November 11.
Diri began his campaign on the weekend in Constituency 3 and ended in Constituency 2 with rallies at Okordia, Obunagha and Polaku where huge crowds greeted his campaign trail.
According to him, his agenda in the second term includes investments in sustainable security and peace building, economic development blueprint, physical infrastructure, environmental protection, housing, integrated health programmes and human capacity building.
Others are investments in agriculture, empowerment and poverty alleviation, technological innovation, sports development, tourism and entertainment, power, social empowerment as well as deepening transparency and accountability.
As part of his campaigns, he has incorporated the inauguration of projects completed by his Prosperity Government and it was the same as he inaugurated projects at some stops.
He commissioned projects including roads, schools, health centres and town halls at Biseni, Okordia, Ogboloma and Akaibiri.
Speaking at Okordia, headquarters of Constituency 3 where all the wards gathered to receive him, he urged the youths to remain peaceful in their support for the party.
Diri said unlike the opposition that has urged their supporters to throw people who disagree with them into the sea, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would remain peaceful before, during and after the polls.
At Obunagha, he urged the people to continue to support his administration and vote for continuity so that the government could implement its developmental agenda for the betterment of the state.
