Bayelsa State Government has expressed grief over the sudden death of Mr. Chris Ejims, a state correspondent of the New Telegraph newspaper.
Late Ejims, 49, a native of Ezira community in Orumba North Local Government Council of Anambra State died, on Thursday, at his residence, Ox-Bow lake Yenagoa after a brief illness.
The state government, in a statement, signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, condoled with the immediate family of the deceased, the Federated Correspondents Chapel and the Nigerian Union of Journalists.
The statement described late Ejims who has since been buried as a versatile writer who has contributed immensely to the growth of journalism in the state.
Late Ejims, according to the statement will be greatly missed by the noble men of the pen fraternity and the government of Bayelsa state.
The statement, therefore prayed God to grant the family of the departed soul the fortitude to bear the loss.
Late Ejims until his death was a member of the NUJ and staff of New Telegraph Newspaper.
Also, he worked with ThisDay newspaper as an Industry correspondent, National Interest Newspaper and Daily Compass Newspaper as state correspondent.
He is a graduate of Mass communication, Anambra State Polytechnic, Oko.
