The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested the principal suspect linked to the murder of one Rilwanu Dauda in Karofin Madaki, three months after the crime.
In a press release on Monday, the Command said the suspect, Abdulrazak Sale alias “Abba Sale Police”, 24, of Karofin Madaki, and his gang members allegedly attacked and fatally stabbed Dauda, 46, on July 5, 2026, at about 9:30 a.m.
The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH, Bauchi, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor at about 11 a.m. the same day.
Police said the suspects had been on its watchlist since the incident and had previously been linked to a politically-motivated murder in the same area before disappearing.
Acting on credible intelligence from a good Samaritan, operatives attached to ‘A’ Division, Township, arrested the principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, on October 5, 2026, exactly three months after the murder.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said efforts are being intensified to arrest the remaining accomplices who are currently at large.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the operatives for their professionalism and resilience, warning that no criminal will have a hiding place in Bauchi State.
He directed that the case be thoroughly investigated and charged to court.
