Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 16 suspected armed robbers, murderers and rapists.
Commissioner of Police, Sani Omolori Aliyu, said: “We are waging war against criminals to make the state too hot for them to operate. The command has done well in fighting hoodlums terrorising citizen.
“The state has been in peace and safety. I have charged officers to go after the criminals. We are at alert to fight crime and criminality. We are concerned about the safety of life and property.
“We imbibe community policing and apply professionalism in having good relationship with the public. We are calling all stakeholders to work with us by giving us useful information to flush out the hoodlums.
“The command is enhancing its capabilities to combat emerging security threats. I encourage office to apply professionalism in carrying out their duties and work in the ambit of law, follow rules and regulations of the Police Act.
“The command has put in place adequate security arrangement in liaison with other security agencies to protect life and property. Members of the public should be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
“Police operatives arrested a 26-year-old man, resident in Gwallameji, for allegedly trafficking a 19-year-old-girl to Burkina Faso for prostitution. Operatives arrested 13 suspects in connection with an alleged gang rape, abortion and death of 18-year-old -girl in Misau town, Misau Local Government.
“Ganjuwa Police Division arrested a 50-year-old father for allegedly raping and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter in Ado via Kariya, Ganjuwa Local Government. Operatives arrested 10 suspected armed robbers terrorising the state and recovered AK47 rifles, magazine, pump action, 25 round of ammunition. Two suspected armed robbers were arrested for stealing a green 200 model Honda civic Reg no AKL 627 GG at Yelwan Tudu Market, Bauchi.”
