The Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmad Jalam, has died in an accident that occurred along the Bauchi-Jalam expressway in Bauchi on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Jalam was reportedly travelling to his village in Jalam, Dambam Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, described the incident as sad.
The statement described the deceased as a dedicated public servant whose commitment to the development and well-being of the state and his local communities was unwavering.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed shock over the demise of Jalam popularly known as Mai Kankana.
On behalf of his family, government, and people of the state, the governor extended his deepest condolences to the members of his immediate family and the entire people of the state and prayed that God will forgive his shortcomings
The late Ahmed Aliyu Jalam died and left behind wives and many children, and he will be buried today, Sunday, June 2, 2024, in his home town, Jalam, in the Dambam local government area of Bauchi State, by 11:00 a.m.
