Bauchi Fixes August 10 For Council Polls

Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) has fixed Saturday, August 10, 2024, for the conduct of the local government council elections in the state.

 

The BASIEC Chairman, Ahmed Makama, made the announcement while briefing journalists in his office on Friday.

Makama explained that 60 days’ notice for the conduct of the local government council elections in Bauchi State has been given in accordance with the laws.

He called appealed to political parties and other stakeholders in state to join hands with Commission to ensure the conduct of a free and fair election come August 10.

He said BASIEC was to deliver a credible election elections adding that the Commission would rely on the voter register by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cast votes.

He said the process of selling nomination forms had commenced, urging interested politicians to purchase the forms.
