Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has stated why he shaded Wizkid while appreciating Davido’s wedding’s impact on social media.
During Davido and Chioma’s wedding on June 25, the comedian revealed difficulties advertising his Canadian tour since all attention was focused on the wedding.
He went on to say that even Wizkid’s social media issue received little attention since everyone was focused on Davido and Chioma’s wedding.

His criticism of Wizkid did not go down well with fans of the musician, who threatened to “cancel” him.
Speaking about the incident on Backstage Banter with Isi Ijewere at the Toronto leg of his Canadian tour, Basketmouth revealed that his criticism of Wizkid was simply “a marketing technique.”
He said, “Wizkid is my guy…that was a marketing technique. But I knew it was going to be edgy.
“I knew it was going to hit people. I knew they were going to get upset and they did exactly what I wanted them to do. It worked.”
