The Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association (CAMCONIA) has elected the Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, Mr. Segun Bankole as its new Chairman.
CAMCONIA was set up to seek common ground for the growth of the insurance industry in Nigeria.
Bankole emerged the Chairman during a meeting held recently by the head of corporate affairs units of insurance companies in Nigeria.
He succeeds Ms. Sobande Oyinkansola of Great Nigeria Insurance who has served out her tenure.
Also elected Deputy Chairman is the Chief Marketing Officer, Heirs Insurance Group, Mrs. Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, while the Senior Marketing Services Coordinator at Sanlam Nigeria Limited, Bankole Banjo, was elected the General Secretary.
Commenting on the election, Bankole expressed excitement and promised to do his best as the Chairman of CAMCONIA to contribute to the growth of the industry.
In a letter congratulating him by Nigerian Insurers association (NIA) the Director General, Yetunde llori, stated that Bankole’s role would no doubt contribute significantly to the success and effectiveness of CAMCONIA
According to llori, “We are confident that your passion, expertise, and commitment will be instrumental in achieving the Committee’s goals and objectives”.
Bankole, the new CAMCONIA Chairman, graduated from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, (OAU). He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar. He has over 20 years of work experience in the Nigerian Private and public Sectors with a keen interest in Media, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Human Relations, and business development. He is an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School having completed the Advanced Management Programme of the Institution.
Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, the CAMCONIA’s Deputy Chairman and the Chief Marketing Officer, Heirs Insurance Group, attended Queens College, Lagos and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Benin. She holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Communications from Pan Atlantic University.
