Bandits abduct 2 Zamfara varsity students

Armed bandits, yesterday, abducted two female students of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) in Zamfara State.

Daily Sun gathered that the kidnappers had, in the early hours of yesterday, stormed the university’s hostel at Sabon-Gida, a community opposite the main campus, and locked up the security guards before carrying out their mission.

The abducted students were simply identified as Maryam and Zainab.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mohammed Shehu, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits invaded the rented female hostel located at the Sabon Gida village in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state and abducted the two female students.

He added a police rescue squad had already been deployed to go after the assailants, with a view to rescuing the students and apprehending their abductors.
