Bamidele, Adaramodu, Fasuyi secure return tickets in Ekiti APC senatorial primary election

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the  Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Cyril Fasuyi and Senator Yemi Adaramodu have emerged candidates for Ekiti Central, Ekiti North and Ekiti South Senatorial Districts respectively in the May 18 All Progressives Congress(APC) Senatorial primary election in Ekiti State

 

The senators won return tickets of the APC senatorial primaries conducted across the three senatorial districts of the state

 

Announcing the results in Ado-Ekiti on Monday night, the Chairman of the APC Senatorial Primary Election Committee and Chief Returning Officer, Asipa Adedoyin Banjo ,declared Senator Opeyemi Bamidele winner of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District primary election, having emerged unopposed with yes votes of 29,586.

 

Senator Bamidele who is currently serving his second term is seeking re-election for a third term to represent the district at the National Assembly.

 

In the Ekiti South Senatorial District Senator Yemi Adaramodu secured 12,200 votes to emerge winner, defeating a former National Assembly member, Senator Biodun Olujimi, who polled 7,420 votes and Hon. Bamidele Faparusi who polled 5,502 votes.

 

Senator Adaramodu, a serving lawmaker is seeking a second term to represent the district at the National Assembly.

 

For Ekiti North Senatorial District, the committee declared incumbent Senator Cyril Fasuyi winner after polling 14,179 votes to defeat a former Member of the Senate, Senator Ayo Arise, who scored 4,868 votes, Engr Bamisaye Oladipupo  who polled 3,694 votes and Otunba Oluwadare Owolabi who got 2,836 votes.

 

Senator Fasuyi is also seeking a second term ticket to represent the district at the Red Chamber

 

With their emergence, they are expected to face candidates of other parties in the National Assembly elections scheduled to hold January, 2027.
