BAL 2025: Rivers Hoopers suffer another setback

Rivers-Hoopers

Rivers Hoopers’ quest to bounce back in the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) hit another stumbling block on Monday, as they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Rwanda’s APR, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After opening their BAL campaign on Saturday with an 81-89 loss to US Monastir, the Nigerian side aimed to return to winning ways in their second game at the SunBet Arena.

However, APR proved too strong, dominating the game from the tip-off.

The Rwandan team surged to a commanding 57-32 lead by halftime and continued their relentless performance in the third quarter, extending the score to 83-52.

The Hoopers were unable to mount a comeback in the final quarter, eventually falling 104-73 — their second consecutive loss in the tournament.
