Back your words with action, Eze Ndigbo Ghana HRM Ihenetu tells ECOWAS parliament

Moved by recent statements credited to President of Economic Community of West African States Comisssion (ECOWAS), Jean- Claude Kassi Brou that ECOWAS insists on  the adherence to the ECOWAS protocol as far as the Ghana- Nigeria Trade crisis is concerned, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana and Assistant Publicity Secretary Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, HRM Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu has called on the law making arm of the sub-region to match word with action by ensuring that the recommendation is fully implemented.

In a statement, the Royal father who has won several awards as peace ambassador said both countries have lost a lot as a result of the trade misunderstanding. He said since the beginning of the trade misunderstanding, when several shops were locked, the intervention of the palace of Eze Ndigbo in Ghana helped doused the tension raised by the crisis.

Eze Ihenetu said several peace meetings fully supported by Nigeria High Commission in Ghana led to Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Reps, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila to visit Ghana on peace mission.
While commending ECOWAS Parliament for their intiative, Eze Ihenetu whose intervention led to safe return of 500 stranded Nigerians  in Ghana  to Nigeria said a stable Nigeria and Ghana will ensure stability of the entire West Africa. “As such, all hands must be on deck to make the latest pronouncement on the matter work.”, he said.

On the crisis presently facing his country, Nigeria, the Imo- State-born Eze said it was disturbing to often read in the media that various part of the country is engulf in killings by unknown gunmen.. “Before what we use to hear was attack by Boko Haram in North East, then it metamorphosis to bandits which spread to almost all part of North central, today, the evil wind has blown to the south east with the unknown gun men saga”, HRM Ihenetu call on the international community to assist Nigeria to overcome the security challenges before it catapult s into full blown war.

On what  West African leaders should do, HRM Ihenetu said: ” All African leaders should embrace every West African citizens because we are one. like it is obtainable in Europeeam Union, where members from European Unions with valid EU papers are welcomed in Europe.

“Similarly, Every West African citizens with valid ECOWAS papers should be allowed to ply their trades in their host country.

“Also, the presence of ECOWAS citizens  in any of the countries help build the host country economy.
” So I appeal to government of Nigeria and other 15 West African country member nation to welcome everyone  readily who has good motives to pursue genuine business in their country.”
