Babagana extends relief to 1,000 families in Yobe

One thousand households across Yobe State have received critical relief support following a large-scale humanitarian outreach facilitated by the Managing Director of the Nigeria Food Corporation, Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam.

The intervention, carried out in Damaturu, provided essential supplies to widows, orphans, and families facing economic hardship. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to ensure that vulnerable members of society are not left behind during periods of increased financial pressure.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Dr. Babagana emphasized that leadership must extend beyond administrative oversight to direct community engagement.

“Public service is not about occupying an office; it is about touching lives,” he said. “When families struggle, institutions must respond. Our responsibility is to ensure that no vulnerable household feels forgotten.”

He further noted that sustainable development requires compassion alongside strategy.

“We are committed to building systems that serve people at the grassroots. Support like this is not an isolated gesture, it reflects a continuing obligation to stand with those who need assistance the most,” Babagana added.

Beneficiaries at the event expressed visible relief and gratitude, describing the intervention as timely and reassuring. Several recipients offered prayers for the leadership behind the effort, stating that the support would significantly ease their domestic burdens.

The outreach attracted notable dignitaries, including Dr. Mohammed Goje, Executive Secretary of SEMA, and Dr. Sa’id Alkali Kori, Group Chief Executive Officer of Thinklab Group and Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency, among other community leaders and stakeholders.

Observers say the initiative reinforces  Babagana’s growing reputation as a proactive administrator whose stewardship of the Nigeria Food Corporation continues to reflect both institutional effectiveness and social responsibility.

The exercise was conducted within the supportive governance framework of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, whose administration has consistently promoted inclusive programs aimed at strengthening community welfare.

With the successful completion of the distribution, Babagana reaffirmed his resolve to expand humanitarian-driven programs that directly address the needs of vulnerable populations across the state.
