Nigerian singer Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart with her latest album, Starrgirl, less than two weeks after its release.
The achievement was confirmed on Wednesday following the release of the Billboard World Albums chart for the week ending August 29, 2026.
Starrgirl debuted behind three K-pop boy groups. Stray Kids’ This & That retained the top spot, while CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5 placed second and third, respectively.
South African singer Tyla’s APOP* occupied the fifth position on the chart.
Released on August 14 through Mavin Records and Republic Records, Starrgirl is Ayra Starr’s third studio album, following 19 & Dangerous, released in 2021, and The Year I Turned 21, released in 2024.

The 16-track album features several international and Nigerian acts, including Wizkid, Rema, Zayn, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
The album has also recorded strong performances across other charts and streaming platforms since its release.
It peaked at No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart and No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart, while reaching No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart.
In Nigeria, Starrgirl topped the Spotify album chart and also recorded multiple No. 1 positions on Apple Music across several countries.
The Billboard World Albums chart ranks the week’s top-selling world music albums in the United States based on sales.
