Award-winning communications professional, speaker, and wellness advocate Ayodele Alabi has announced the release of her latest book, “Congratulations, You’re a Work in Progress”, a collection of narratives exploring identity, authenticity, and personal growth.
Published alongside a companion journal, the book aims to challenge modern societal pressures regarding perfection and curated success. Instead, Alabi reframes the concept of being a “work in progress” as a milestone worth celebrating.
“Too often, authenticity is misunderstood as simply being whatever we are in the moment. But authenticity is not the absence of growth. It is the willingness to take responsibility for who we are becoming. This book is an invitation to embrace that journey,: Alabi said.

Through interconnected character stories, the book addresses universal themes such as ambition, grief, self-worth, leadership, and belonging. Rather than offering a rigid self-help formula, the narrative invites readers to reflect on their own evolving identities.
According to Alabi, the core philosophy of the book stems from her view of self-awareness. “The healthiest, most self-aware people are not those who have arrived, but those who are willing to keep learning, growing, unlearning, and becoming,” she explained.
To complement the release, Alabi has also launched My Work in Progress Practice Journal. The guided companion features prompts and exercises designed to help readers translate the book’s reflective themes into daily practice.
