There is no gainsaying that Ayobami Feyisetan Oyalowo is an intellectual and a great mind. As a development economist, Oyalowo has held executive roles that require transformational leadership in achieving growth objectives. While as a public communicator and influencer, he has over the years carved a niche for himself as an insightful writer, debater, and defender with a broad worldview. Oyalowo is also a dyed-in-the-wool party man as a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His last duty was as the Deputy Director of Media and Communication of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. Oyalowo traversed the length and breadth of Nigeria to canvass votes for his party.

Recently, Oyalowo was appointed Executive Director (Finance), Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority. His emergence as ED Finance has continued to gather accolades from Nigerians, who are aware of Oyalowo’s professional experience over the last 20 years. His new job at the Ogun-Osun RBDA is simple yet daunting. He is expected to deliver enterprise value and returns to Nigerians, especially those at the grassroots. However, the Ogbomoso, Oyo State-born dude is coming to the job with a rich resume as a seasoned professional with extensive experience in banking and finance, coupled with a passion for communication, people management, and economic policy analysis.

Oyalowo’s financial career journey includes roles in various reputable financial institutions such as UBA Capital and Trust Ltd, Guaranty Trust Bank, Access Bank, and Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, where he served in various managerial capacities. He also served as the Head of Stakeholder Relations at NIRSAL Plc. He is currently a Ph.D. Research student in Political Economy and Development Studies.
