Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has sent a thank you message to the departed Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Cooper was sacked on Tuesday as the Forest manager following the string of poor results and the injured Nigerian international has thanked the gaffer.
“ Thank you for helping me achieve my big dream and bring out the best in myself. Good luck to Gaffer,” he said.
Cooper brought Awoniyi to the club 2 seasons ago from the German Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
And Awoniyi played a key role as the club survived relegation last season.
Under Cooper, Awoniyi scored 15 goals, and 3 assists in 41 appearances.
