The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Stanley Bond Anyaehie has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to forge a stronger partnership and collaboration with the members of the university host communities geared towards greater productivity and positive returns to all stakeholders.
The Vice Chancellor spoke yesterday while receiving a delegation from the Association of the Seven Villages of Awka in his office.
The delegation, led by Sir Charles N. Nwachukwu comprised representatives from the seven host communities of the university: Umuzocha, Umunoke, Amudo, Ifite, Nkwelle, Umuoramma, and Amachalla.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Sir Nwachukwu emphasized that the communities remain the traditional landlords of the land on which the university is built.

He expressed their satisfaction with the Vice-Chancellor’s performance since assuming office, noting visible infrastructural developments within a short period.
The association further pledged their continued support and cooperation, as has been the tradition with previous Vice-Chancellors of the institution.
Responding, Prof. Anyaehie warmly appreciated the visit and described it as a significant gesture of goodwill. He expressed his delight at receiving the host communities, referring to them as critical stakeholders in the growth and stability of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a cordial and mutually beneficial relationship with the communities, assuring them of his loyalty and openness to engagement.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening security collaboration between the university and the host communities, calling for sustained synergy to enhance safety and protect lives and property within and around the institution.
Other members of the delegation present at the meeting included Chief Chukwuemeka Okoye Ndibe Christopher, Arinze Charles and Remy Onyekuba.
