The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ihe-Shikeaguma Ward, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, has called on a prominent community figure, Dr. Madueke Ekoh, to formally align with the “Tomorrow Is Here” movement championed by Governor Peter Mbah.

In a letter dated March 13, 2026 and signed by the ward chairman, Chief Cajetan Okoye (Onowu), and the secretary, Prince Nnaemeka Ekoh, the ward executives commended the developmental strides attributed to Dr. Ekoh in Ihe-Shikeaguma community and urged him to join what they described as a growing coalition of progressive leadership in the state.

The APC leaders said Ekoh’s contributions to education, youth empowerment and community development had already made a significant impact in the area.

They stated: “On behalf of the Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ihe-Shikeaguma Ward, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, we wish to acknowledge and commend the remarkable achievements and developmental impact you have continued to make within our community.

Over the past few years, your involvement in the affairs of Ihe-Shikeaguma has been both positive and transformative, placing our community firmly on a trajectory of sustainable growth and development.”

The ward executives particularly highlighted Ekoh’s leadership as President of the Ihe Development Initiative (IDI), noting that the organisation had expanded opportunities for young people in the area through educational support and scholarships.

According to them, “Your leadership as President of the Ihe Development Initiative (IDI) has significantly empowered our youths and strengthened human capital development within our society with multiple PhD awards, many Master’s degree awards and numerous other scholarship opportunities that have helped young people pursue higher education and professional growth.”

They further listed a series of projects credited to Ekoh, saying they had improved both infrastructure and social development within the community.

The APC ward leadership noted: “Your dedication is clearly reflected in several landmark contributions, including the remodelling of Community Secondary School, Ihe; the construction of the Dr. Madueke Ekoh Youth Corpers’ Lodge; and ongoing efforts toward the remodelling of Community Primary School, Umvogba-Ihe.

“Your involvement in the major redevelopment of Mother of Mercy Hospital, Ihe; the building of the Nikolo Ekoh Ogboo Cultural and Heritage Centre; your work through the Shikeoguma Foundation (ISF); and your effort with the Special Science School-Ihe Old Boys Association to rebuild the school stand out as remarkable commitments to the wellbeing of our people.”

They also cited Ekoh’s support for the provision of solar-powered boreholes for surrounding communities and his sponsorship of sporting activities for students.

“Your multiple efforts at establishing solar-powered boreholes for our neighbouring communities, your sponsorship of inter-school sports competitions, and the groundbreaking transformation of Primary School, Ihe, into the first public smart elementary school in Enugu State stand as a testament to your vision and commitment to community advancement,” the statement said.

The APC executives said Ekoh’s development philosophy mirrors the vision of Governor Mbah’s administration.

“These noble efforts closely mirror the development-driven leadership style of our dynamic Governor, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whose administration continues to transform Enugu State through the ‘Tomorrow Is Here’ agenda.

“It is therefore on this strong foundation of shared vision and commitment to progress that we respectfully call on you to align with and join the ‘Tomorrow Is Here’ movement, in order to further strengthen the coalition of progressive leadership from the grassroots level in Ihe-Shikeaguma to the wider Awgu Local Government Area and Enugu State at large.”

The ward leaders assured Ekoh of their support should he heed the call, expressing optimism that his involvement would further advance development initiatives within the community.

“As ward leaders of the APC, we stand ready to warmly welcome you and assure you of our unwavering support as we collectively work toward deepening development and advancing the interests of our people.

“We sincerely appreciate your continued service to Ihe-Shikeaguma and encourage you to remain steadfast in your commitment to community development and progressive leadership.”
