AHEAD of the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon, Arsenal ladies of England forward, Asisat Oshoala believes that the new Super Falcons team will step up their game and get better.

Falcons on Tuesday in Abuja qualified for their 10th appearance at the AWCON after edging out Senegal from the championship on a 3-1 goal aggregate .

The former African woman footballer of the year maintained that the reigning champions needed more time to play together to find their rhythm again. She stated that a few more competitive games will knock the girls into proper form.

“This is a new team and we hope to improve before the championship,” Oshoala stated.

Meanwhile, the roll call for the final tournament of the 10th Women Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2016 is complete.

Kenya joined holders Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, in confirming their ticket for the tournament alongside Egypt, Equatorial Guinea and Zimbabwe who had qualified earlier.

Of the seven teams that emerged from the qualifiers, Kenya counts the biggest surprise, having qualified for the showpiece women’s football tournament for the first time since its inception in 1998.

The Harambee Starlets as the Kenyans are nicknamed achieved that feat at the expense of Algeria, after 1-1 draw in Nairobi handed them passage via the away goal after a 3-3 tie on aggregate. Veteran Naima Bouhenni gave Algeria the lead on 23 minutes before Cheris Avilia grabbed the vital equalizer on 74 minutes.
