The Lagos culinary scene came alive on Wednesday, December 3, as Rococo Restaurant, Victoria Island, hosted the 2025 Awari Restaurant Week Awards, celebrating excellence in service, creativity, and customer engagement across Lagos and Abuja.

Notably, this year marked the 11th edition of Restaurant Week, which began as a modest guide called ‘Lost in Lagos’ and has since evolved into Awari.

“What began as a simple guide has transformed into a platform, a community, and now a movement, dedicated to showcasing the best of the city’s culinary talent, one that continues to grow because of all of you,” Founder Tannaz Bahnam described the event.

He added that it is “a celebration of the passion, creativity, and resilience that define Lagos’ food scene.”

With 82 restaurants participating in the three-week programme, standout winners emerged: Mr Panther clinched both the Best in Service Award and the People’s Choice Award, Z Kitchen won the Best ARW Menu Award, and Lalas Bistro was named Top Performing Restaurant.

Bahnam highlighted the broader mission of the awards, noting that Awari Restaurant Week “strengthens the fabric of the city” by celebrating local talent and fostering community.

The evening also underscored the growing impact of food tourism and innovation in the hospitality sector, reaffirming Lagos and Abuja’s rising status as vibrant culinary destinations.
