Health authorities in Abia State are reported to have launched investigation into the death of a wheelbarrow pusher in Aba, Abia State.
The wheelbarrow pusher whose name could not be immediately ascertained, was said to have died at the weekend while resting on his barrow along the busy Aba-Owerri Road.
Residents reportedly confirmed seeing the man earlier in the day pushing his wheelbarrow along the roadside before deciding to take a rest inside it after hours of strenuous work.
However, hours later, passersby were said to have noticed that the deceased had remained in the same position for hours without any body movement.
Concerned by the unusual situation, some residents approached him to wake him up but discovered he was unresponsive.
They reportedly alerted the authorities, and after a while security personnel arrived the scene and subsequently evacuated the body to a mortuary.
Police authorities while urging anyone with useful information that could lead to the identification of the deceased to come forward, equally appealed to families searching for missing relatives to contact the appropriate authorities for possible identification.
