Aurodigent, a new streaming platform, has announced a content partnership with Apanpa Pictures as it moves to expand its catalogue of African films and other digital entertainment.
The partnership will see the platform work with filmmaker Saheed Apanpa, who has hundreds of film titles to his credit, according to the company.
Aurodigent said the collaboration is part of its strategy to increase the availability of regional content on its platform and provide filmmakers with another channel for distributing their productions to audiences in Nigeria and other markets.
The streaming platform offers movies, television programmes, podcasts and other entertainment content through a payment model that allows users to purchase access based on their individual content preferences.
Unlike the conventional monthly subscription structure adopted by many streaming platforms, Aurodigent said users can pay for selected content, while customers who purchase complete albums can receive discounts.
The company said the payment structure was developed with mobile-first consumers in mind, particularly users who depend largely on mobile data rather than fixed broadband connections.
Aurodigent currently offers streaming quality at 480p and 720p, with the company saying the options are intended to help users manage mobile data consumption.
The platform’s content categories include action films, television dramas, comedy, podcasts, Bollywood productions and African regional cinema.
Aurodigent said its content acquisition strategy includes working with filmmakers and creators producing for specific local and regional audiences.
The company said the approach would allow productions from different parts of Africa to be distributed digitally while giving audiences access to titles that may have limited exposure through conventional distribution channels.
The partnership with Apanpa Pictures is expected to add to the platform’s film catalogue as the company continues discussions with filmmakers and other content producers.
Saheed Apanpa is known for directing and producing films across different genres in the Nigerian film industry.

Beyond its consumer streaming service, Aurodigent said it is developing the platform as an additional distribution channel for filmmakers, particularly independent and low-budget production teams.
According to the company, digital distribution could enable creators to reach audiences directly without relying entirely on traditional studio and distribution networks.
It said the platform would also provide opportunities for regional productions to reach audiences outside their immediate geographical markets.
The company said its streaming model takes into consideration the large number of consumers who access entertainment through smartphones and mobile data.
Aurodigent said its focus on 480p and 720p streaming is intended to provide users with viewing options that require less data than higher-resolution formats.
The platform is also targeting consumers interested in action and thriller films, while maintaining a broader catalogue covering television, comedy, podcasts and other entertainment categories.
Aurodigent has also outlined a five-year expansion plan that includes scaling its streaming platform and expanding its presence across consumer devices.
The company said it plans to develop its audio offering alongside its video catalogue, with a particular focus on immersive and 3D audio.
According to Aurodigent, the audio expansion is intended to make advanced audio experiences more accessible to consumers.
The company’s expansion strategy is centred on three areas — data-conscious streaming, regional content distribution and immersive audio.
With the partnership with Apanpa Pictures, Aurodigent said it expects to continue expanding its library through collaborations with filmmakers and other content creators.
