AU Anti Corruption Day: EFCC boss assures adequate protection for whistleblowers

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Makurdi Zonal Directorate, and stakeholders, yesterday, staged a road walk in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to mark the 2024 African Union Anti-corruption Day.

This year’s celebration has the theme, “Effective Whistleblowers Protection Mechanism: A Critical Tool in the Fight Against Corruption.”

Speaking during the walk, the Chairman, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede emphasised the importance of protecting whistleblowers to enhance the fight against corruption across the country.

Ola, who was represented by the Acting Zonal Director, Anselem Ozioko, who led the walk, urged whistleblowers to key into the EFCC Eagle Eye app in reporting corruption related issues. He assured that every whistleblower will be protected, to encourage Nigerians to report issues of corruption to authorities.
