The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has condemned the assassination attempt on Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Tuesday, describing the incident as a conspiracy against Ndigbo.
A statement issued yesterday by the group’s National Director of Information, Edeson Samuel, said MASSOB will hold the Federal Government accountable, should anything happen to Senator Ekweremadu.

“MASSOB, under the leadership of Uchenna Madu, condemns the assassination attempt on Ike Ekweremadu. It is unfortunate that the federal government of Nigeria, led by Muhammadu Buhari, cannot provide a formidable security for a deputy senate president.
“It is clear that what happened to Chief Bola Ige wants to repeat itself, but, MASSOB will hold the Nigerian government and her security agents responsible, should anything happen to Ekweremadu.
This is conspiracy against Ndigbo. The world should know that Nigeria is not safe for citizens and foreigners.
“Minister of Information Lai Mohammed just lied few days ago that Nigeria is safer now than during the previous government. This is a grand lie,” he said.
