The Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) has been named the “Most Impactful Association Award” at the 2026 NIGAV Awards.
Presenting the award, NIGAV commended ATSSSAN for its ‘disciplined service, principled advocacy, and rare commitment to industrial peace and progress.’
In his acceptance remarks, the president of ATSSSAN, John Ogbe, described the honour as deeply symbolic and well-deserved. He noted that ATSSSAN has consistently distinguished itself in an environment where agitation can easily tilt into disruption.
According to Ogbe, the association’s approach is guided by a clear respect for labour laws, institutional frameworks, and professional standards, making ATSSSAN a trusted voice not only for its members but also for industry stakeholders and regulators. He attributed the association’s success to its culture of constructive engagement.
“This conferment reflects years of disciplined service, principled advocacy, and a rare commitment to both progress and peace within Nigeria’s aviation industry. The association has chosen the higher path of diplomatic activism, engaging firmly, yet respectfully; advocating strongly, yet lawfully. Rather than confrontation for its own sake, ATSSSAN has built a reputation for dialogue, strategic engagement, and solutions-oriented advocacy,” Ogbe said.
The NIGAV Awards ceremony, held in Lagos, brought together key players across Nigeria’s aviation sector, with stakeholders applauding ATSSSAN for raising the bar for labour relations in the sector.
