Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday paid a courtesy call on his political ally and former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal at the latter’s residence in Abuja.

Disclosing this in an X post, Atiku said he met Tambuwal in “good, unbroken and unwavering spirit”.

Sharing photos of the visit, Atiku said, “I visited Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at his residence in Abuja earlier today. I am happy seeing him in good, unbroken, and unwearing spirit.”

Tambuwal also took to X to confirm the visit.

He said, “Earlier today, I had the honour of receiving the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Alhaji @atiku, GCON, Waziri Adamawa, at my residence. I thank His Excellency for the visit.”

In August, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained Tambuwal for a night over alleged N189 billion fraud.

After being granted bail, Tambuwal vowed not to be silenced and accused the anti-graft agency of intimidation and blackmail.

Meanwhile, the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) described the timing of the investigation as a political witch-hunt aimed at weakening opposition forces ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
