Atiku mourns Sheikh Jingir

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness at the passing of revered Islamic scholar, Sheikh Saidu Hassan Jingir.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday.

Jingir, the Deputy National Chairman of the Ulama Council of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), died aged 70 on Thursday.

Publicity Secretary of JIBWIS, Hon. Ahmad Ashiru confirmed his demise.

Daily Sun learnt that the Islamic scholar passed on at his Anguwan Rimi residence in Jos, Plateau State, after a prolonged illness.

Atiku said, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sheikh Saidu Hassan Jingir, a revered Islamic scholar and leader.

“The Deputy National Chairman of the Ulama Council of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), among other things, was unwaveringly dedicated to the teachings of Islam and committed to peace and unity.

“His wisdom and guidance have been a source of inspiration for many, and his absence will be profoundly felt.

“My heartfelt condolences to his family, the Muslim community, and all who were impacted by his teachings.

“May Allah grant him eternal rest and comfort those who mourn his loss.”
