At last, INEC declares Ekwunife winner of Anambra Central Senatorial election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) this morning declared the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sen. Uche Ekwunife winner of the Anambra Central senatorial district election. 

Ekwunife pulled a total of 118,484 votes to defeat the incumbent and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate,  Sen. Victor Umeh, who had 81,429 and the All Progressives Congress (APC)  candidate,  Chief Sylvester Okonkwo who scored 10,999 votes.

She won with a margin of 37,055 votes.

The Returning Officer, Prof Charles Amobi Nwankwo also returned Ekwunife as the Senator-elect having satisfied the law.
