From Felix Ikem, Nsukka

Academic activities in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) were paralysed yesterday as exams and lectures were cancelled, following a warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Lecturers in public universities under the platform of ASUU, yesterday, embarked on a two-week nationwide warning strike over the alleged failure of the Federal Government to meet its demands.

Our reporter, who went round the campus reported that lecturers’ offices, lecture halls and theatres were under lock and key, as the ASUU monitoring team were seen in their bus moving from one faculty to another to enforce the strike.

Our correspondent spoke with Dr Clinton Nwoke, the Secretary of ASUU-UNN, at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who is also the leader of the ASUU Monitoring Team.

Nwoke explained that the team was moving around the campus to ensure total compliance with the two-week warning strike by members in the institution
