From Laide Raheem, Abeokuta
A Magistrate’s Court, Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, yesterday , remanded four student leaders over alleged assault and destruction of property.
The defendants are: Hezakiah Adelola, General Secretary of NAN JCCI, Ogun State; Kamil Iseoluwa; Ibikunle Idris; and Folorusho Jacob Olugbenga.
They were arraigned on a seven count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault, harassment, and destruction of property. The charges alleged that the defendants, on different occasions, harassed and assaulted one Kehinde Tejuosho and Abiodun, and destroyed properties valued at millions of naira.

While reading the charges, the court clerk stated that the four defendants were jointly charged on seven counts ranging from assault and property destruction to conspiracy. All the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, M.K. Araba, ordered each of the defendants to pay a fine of N1 million. Pending the payment of the fine, the magistrate directed that the defendants be remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre.
The case was adjourned to April 13, 2026, for further hearing.
