Nigerian table tennis star Offiong Edem is set to lead her club, ASD Quattro Mori to its first Europe Cup Women’s title should they defeat Budaorsi Sport Club in Budapest, Hungary come May 7th 2023.
Early in April 2023, the ASD Quattro from Cagliari, Italy, defeated the Hungarian guests 3-2 in the opening leg of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) championship final match.
Offiong Edem won 3:0 over Maria Fazekas, giving ASD Quattro the third victory and establishing a gap between the best female table tennis clubs in Europe.
“This will be the first time for us to lift the trophy. We are preparing in earnest for it and the team will be very happy.” Edem told our reporter.
ASD Quattro Mori lost out at the Semifinal stage of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) competition last season.
Meanwhile, the victory is hoped to strengthen the ‘Offiong Edem Foundation’s resolve to support more kids in Calabar, Nigeria, to develop their table tennis skills.
Her Foundation has given children and teenagers another opportunity to become table tennis stars as she plans to host a table tennis championship final in June 2023 in Calabar, Cross River State.
