Traders at Article Dealers Association, Lagos, Badagry Express Way, opposite Lagos International Trade Fair Complex would on April 17, 2025 elect the new executive to pilot the affairs of the market.
This is coming 17 years after the past executive, which was headed by Mike Elendu.
Speaking while announcing the time table for the proposed election, the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Prince Alexander Ezeobi said that all the positions in the executive, starting from the president to the welfare officers are open for contest.
According to him, the expression of interest form for the position of the president and general secretary are N200,000 and N150,000 respectively.
He also listed the amount for the other positions, saying that they are non-refundable.
He said that the picking of the forms would start from 7th of April to 9th of April while screening of candidates would be o the 10th of April.

Ezeobi also expressed the desire of the electoral committee to give the association a free, fair and credible election.
In his contribution, the immediate past president of the association, Mr Elendu, expressed his utmost support and that of the Board of Trustees for the election.
He also prayed for its success, adding that the time has come for someone else to take the burden of leadership away from him after being on the saddle for too long.
Also contributing, a member of the BOT, Comrade Jerry Dimata warned whoever that has intention to stop the process of change in leadership in the market to desist from it because they cannot be intimidated.
According to him, for so many years, the market has been on standstill and now that they have started moving forward, nothing will stop them from achieving their desire, which is having a new elected executive.
Also contributing, another leader in the market, Ichie Mayor Morah said that no force would stop the election from holding.
He told the traders to feel free and go about their business and on the election day they should go to the designated places to cast their votes for their candidates.
