The Nigerian Army on Monday commences a week special conference to review and discuss its constitutional mandate.
The event known as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) conference is a week of brainstorming by the principal officers at the army headquarters, corps commanders, special operations Commanders, General Officer Commanding (GOCs) and senior army officers.
“The week-long conference is an important annual event in the calendar of the Nigerian Army due to its significance to National security, peace, and stability,” the army said in a statement.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to declare open the conference. Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tapered Lagbaja who is the host, will receive the president.
The conference theme; “Personnel Motivation for Effective Operational Performance in a Joint Environment” is expected to recommend various ways to boost performances of army personnel in security challenging Nigerian society.
