Commander, 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola, has donated a refurbished vehicle to the Man-O-War Nigeria, Lagos State Command, to boost its intelligence-gathering efforts in support of military operations across the state.
The presentation ceremony, held at the brigade headquarters, saw the official handover of the vehicle: an abandoned Operation MESA patrol unit which had been restored for renewed use.
Speaking during the handover, Brigadier General Oyekola said the gesture was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Nigerian Army and community-based security partners like the Man-O-War.
“I found it expedient to refurbish one of the long-abandoned Operation MESA vehicles for the Man-O-War to encourage their information gathering and sharing capabilities.
“We hope this donation enhances their responsiveness and effectiveness in supporting our operations.”
Receiving the vehicle, Commander of the Man-O-War,Lagos Command, Lucky Onimowo, expressed gratitude and pledged that the vehicle would be put to effective use to provide timely, actionable intelligence to the brigade. The highlight of the occasion was the symbolic presentation of the vehicle keys to Commander Onimowo by Brigadier General Oyekola.
