The 2 Brigade Nigerian Army cantonment in Mbiokporo, Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State yesterday decorated four senior officers of the unit, who were recently promoted to the rank of colonel and Lieutenant colonel, respectively.

This is as the 2 Python Officers’ Mess marked a day of celebration, camaraderie, and honour with a vibrant Tombola Night.

A statement by the Assistant Director Army Public Relations, 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Adebowale Adejimi, in Uyo Akwa Ibom State on Saturday said the dual events “underscored the unit’s commitment to fostering unity and celebrating excellence within the ranks.”

The Senior officers decorated to the rank of Colonel are the Brigade Acting Chief of Staff, Colonel Kunle Atilola and the Assistant Chief of Staff Logistics, Colonel Victorio Ashinze.

Those decorated with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, include Lieutenant Colonel Kabiru Abdul and Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Okwujiako.

The commander of 2 Brigade, Brig-Gen Jafaar Ibrahim, while decorating the officers, congratulated them on their well-deserved promotions, emphasizing the significance of their new roles in the Nigerian Army’s hierarchy.

“I urge you to continue to demonstrate exemplary leadership and commitment to the ideals of professionalism, discipline, and patriotism,” Ibrahim stated.

According to the statement, the event was graced by the presence of senior military/paramilitary officials, Brigade Officers, and their families, making it a truly memorable occasion.

The decoration followed the much-anticipated Tombola Night 2024 held at Ibom Hall, Uyo, an event that has become a tradition for fostering camaraderie among officers and their families.

The venue of the Tombola night was adorned with exquisite decorations, reflecting the spirit of the holiday season; creating a festive ambiance.

The night featured an engaging line-up of games, prizes, and entertainment, bringing together officers, families, and guests for an evening of fun and relaxation.

The evening’s highlight was the grand prize draw, featuring an impressive sum of One Million Naira, which significantly enhanced the excitement and anticipation of the event.

The night ended on a high note, leaving attendees with cherished memories and a renewed sense of unity as the Brigade looks forward to the new year.
